Holiday Inn Manhattan at the Campus
A block of rooms has been reserved at the newly remodeled Holiday Inn for symposium participants at the special rate of $109.95 (plus applicable taxes). Please refer to the African Issues Symposium when making your reservation directly with the hotel at (785) 539-7531 or 1-800-962-0014 by February 27, 2009. After this date, or after the block has filled, reservations will be made on a space available basis only and a higher rate may apply.
The Holiday Inn is directly across Anderson Avenue from the Alumni Center, the location of all symposia activities. A campus parking permit is not required for registered guests of the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn is also within walking distance of the historic Aggieville.
Clarion Hotel
Another block of rooms has been reserved at the Clarion Hotel in Manhattan for symposia participants at the special rate of $76 (plus applicable taxes). Please refer to the African Issues Symposium when making your reservation directly with the hotel at (785) 539-5311 by March 6, 2009. After this date, or after the block has filled, reservations will be made on a space available basis only and a higher rate may apply.
Registration Information
Registration for the symposium is scheduled to open on December 15, 2008. Please bookmark this site and return often. If you would like to receive an email notification when registration has opened, please send an email to sharonb@k-state.edu with the subject line of African Issues Symposium.
Special Assistance
Participants in the African Issues Symposium requiring special assistance or dietary requirements should indicate services needed at the time of registration. Early notification, three weeks in advance, is requested to ensure that accommodations can be provided in a timely manner.
