About the Office of Affirmative Action

Welcome to the Kansas State University Office of Affirmative Action (OAA) home page. The OAA administers policies and procedures designed to ensure that Kansas State University complies with Federal and State nondiscrimination, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws, rules, regulations and executive orders, and Kansas State University's policies that prohibit harassment and discrimination based on race, color, ethnic or national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, ancestry, disability, military status, or veteran status. Staff review and approve each phase of searches to ensure that all recruitment and hiring on campus is conducted in a manner that affords all qualified applicants an equal opportunity to apply for and to be fully and equitably considered for positions at Kansas State University. The OAA also provides affirmative action, equal opportunity, nondiscrimination compliance services and training to the K-State community that support K-State's commitment to equal opportunity and diversity and to the maintenance of an inclusive environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.

The OAA staff leads administrative review teams that investigate and resolve complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and retaliation. The OAA staff are members of the Dispute Resolution Working Group. When an individual's concern, problem or issue is outside the scope of the policies the OAA administers, staff will work collaboratively with members of the Dispute Resolution Working Group to identify campus or off-campus resources with expertise to assist the individual.

We hope you find the page accessible and useful. Please contact us if you have any questions, need assistance or to report any concern.
