Admission Requirements for GED Applicants
Students who have completed the General
Educational Development (GED) assessment with an overall score of 2550
or higher and scores of not less than 510 on each of the 5 sub-tests are
eligible for admission to K-State. If you have completed any college course
work, it will be considered in your admissions decision. Please click
here for the requirements for transfer students
if you have completed college course work.
For GED applicants, your first step is to complete, sign, and submit the K-State application for admission with the $30 application fee. You can apply online here. If you apply on the web, you may pay the fee by credit card, check, or money order. You may also request an application from the K-State Office of Admissions.
You should then submit official GED results and a copy of your partial high school transcript showing any work that was completed and official ACT scores.
Next, if you have not taken the ACT or SAT yet, you should take the ACT on one of the national test dates and submit your official ACT scores to K-State. Have your scores sent to K-State by entering the ACT college code number for K-State (1428) on the test registration form.
SAT scores may substitute for ACT scores. K-State's SAT code number is 6334.
