How can I schedule a campus visit?

Call the Admissions Office! You can meet with an Admissions Representative or advisors/faculty from the academic areas you are interested in. How do I get to Manhattan?

It is easy to find your way to the Little Apple. The question all depends upon where you are starting from.

  • From KCI
    • Take I-435 South/West
    • Take I-70
    • Exit 313 - K-177 North
    • You will go across a bridge. Exit first right.
    • Take a right at the light onto Fort Riley Blvd.
    • Travel West to the 17th St. stop light
    • Take a right on 17th
    • You will travel 11 blocks before you come to the Anderson Ave. stop light
    • You are now at the entrance to K-State
    • Go straight through the light and continue up to the Information Booth
  • From Junction City
    • Take I-70 East
    • Take Exit 303 - K-18 North
    • K-18 will change to Ft. Riley Blvd.
    • Continue into Manhattan to 17th Street
    • Take a left at the light on 17th
    • Travel approx. 11 blocks to Anderson Ave.
    • You will be at the entrance to K-State
    • Continue north on 17th to the Information Booth
  • From the North (Nebraska)
    • Take Highway 13 South to Highway 113
    • Travel South on 113 (which turns into Seth Childs Rd.) to Anderson Ave.
    • Go left on Anderson Ave. and travel East to 17th Street
    • Take a left at the light and continue to the Information Booth
  • From Council Grove
    • Take K-177 North to Manhattan
    • After you go over a bridge, exit first right. Turn right at the light onto Fort Riley Blvd.
    • Travel West on Ft. Riley Blvd. to 17th Street
    • Take a right at the light on 17th and travel 11 blocks north
    • Continue through the light at 17th and Anderson Ave. to the Information Booth

When can I meet my advisor?

Once you have been admitted, you will be invited to participate in orientation and enrollment on scheduled dates. You will meet with your advisor and select and enroll in your classes during this program.

When do I pay my fees?

You will receive information about fee payment after you enroll in your classes.
There are four ways to pay:

  1. By Mail (Controller's Office, 212 Anderson Hall, Manhattan, KS 66505)
  2. In person (212 Anderson Hall)
  3. Credit Card (call the payment hotline at 785-532-FEES)
  4. Payment Plans (information available at enrollment or 212 Anderson Hall).

What is the cost of tuition?

This depends on your residency. If you are a Kansas resident, you will pay $137.00/credit hour. If you are not a Kansas resident, you will pay $429.00/credit hour. You will also be assessed campus fees. This will cost you $66.30 for the first credit hour and $19.20/hr up to 12. Then $277.50 for 12 or more hours. Students enrolled in the College of Architecture Planning & Design and College of Engineering courses pay an additional $14/credit hour equipment fee. There is also an additional $15/credit hour surcharge for courses in the College of Business Administration and College of Engineering.

Can I have a transcript faxed to K-State?

Yes, as long as the transcript is faxed to the K-State Admissions Office directly from the Registrars Office of the institution you attended. Fax transcripts to 785-532-6393.

How can I get a K-State catalog?

You can look at the online catalog here, or you may purchase one from the K-State Student Union Bookstore (800-KSU-CATS). It will cost $7.00 to mail it to you or $6.00 if you pick it up. Remember that all admitted students receive one for free the first time they enroll on campus.

What are the requirements for admissions?

For students who graduated high school prior to May/June 2001:

Requirements

Incoming Freshman

    You must send :
    • Official high school transcript
    • ACT/SAT scores if available.
    If you graduated from an accredited Kansas high
    school prior to May/June 2001, you are admissible.
    If you did not graduate from an accredited Kansas
    high school, the admission decision will be based on
    your high school transcript and test scores.

Transfer Students - 12 or more hours     • You must have at least a 2.0 GPA. (Some majors require a higher GPA)
    • You must have your college mail or fax a transcript from each college attended.
Transfer Students - less than 12 hours.     We need:
    • college transcripts must be sent or faxed from each college attended
    • a high school transcript or GED and partial high school transcript
    • your ACT scores from ACT.



Qualified Admissions:
For students who graduated high school after May/June 2001:

Freshman     • Score a 21 on the ACT or 980 on the SAT, OR
    • Rank in the top third of your graduating class, OR
    • Complete the
pre college
curriculum with a 2.0 GPA
    (2.5 for out-of-state student)
Transfer students with less than 24 hours of transfer work     You must:
    • Meet one of the above criteria for a freshman, AND
    • Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher on your transfer work. (Some majors require a higher GPA)
Transfer students with more than 24 hours of transfer work     You must:
    • Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher on your transfer work. (Some majors require a higher GPA)

I need to get a copy of my K-State transcript. How do I do that?

You need to contact the Office of the Registrar. Their number is 785-532-6254. You can also send a request by mail. To do that you must send or fax them your name, dates of attendance, student ID number, address to send the transcript to, and $8.00/transcript. You must also sign the request. Transcript Request Forms are available on their web site: Request Forms
