What to do when
A suggested timeline for fall incoming students
September and October
AdmissionApply for admission and scholarships as soon as possible. Applications for admission are accepted up to 15 months before the first class day each semester. If an application file is complete at least seven working days before the first day of classes, an admissions decision will be made before the first day of classes. Otherwise, the decision may be delayed until after the first day of classes, and a $50 fee will be assessed to the student account for late enrollment.
November 1
Scholarships: Incoming freshmen apply for scholarships
November 1 is the priority date for incoming freshman students to submit the K-State
scholarship application. Some scholarships have unique application deadlines.
November and December
Housing
Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete the residence hall application if you plan to live on campus. After you complete a residence hall application, expect
an email informing you the contract is ready to complete.
February 1
Scholarships: Transfer students apply for scholarships.
February 1 is the priority date for students transferring to K-State from another
college or university and for continuing K-State students to submit the K-State scholarship
application. Some scholarships have unique application deadlines.
February 1 is the application deadline for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design; priority application deadline for the interior design program in the College of Human Ecology; and priority deadline for the wildlife and outdoor enterprise management program in the College of Agriculture.
March 1
Financial aid
March 1 is the priority deadline to apply for federal student aid. Find out if you
qualify for grants, loans and work-study programs with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. K-State's federal code for the FAFSA is 001928.
April
Admitted students attending K-State in the fall should sign up for orientation and enrollment in the spring. This is your time to choose classes and learn the keys to college success. New freshmen also can sign up for Wildcat Warm-up, a three-day stay on campus.
