A major in agricultural economics or agribusiness addresses issues in marketing, farm management, agricultural finance and trade, and natural resource use and management. Students in these programs learn to deal with the constantly changing economy and make decisions concerning risk and uncertainty of agricultural production, reliance on natural resources, key aspects of institutions that govern food and agriculture, and the competitive structures within agribusiness. Employment opportunities range over a wide spectrum from marketing, finance, and management, to service in government or industry organizations.
