(a) "Institutions shall
have limited ownership or control rights for mediated courseware"
http://www.kansasregents.org/academic/policy/intel.html
Two types of mediated courseware are defined in this policy:
1) self-initiated mediated courseware
2) institutional-directed mediated courseware
Faculty
wishing to protect their lecture notes posted to their websites might
include on the website the following:
"Copyright [year] [professor's name]"
In addition, the following notice of copyright may be used for course
syllabi and lectures:
"Copyright [year] [professor's name] as to this syllabus and all
lectures. During this course students are prohibited from selling notes
to or being paid for taking notes by any person or commercial firm without
the express written permission of the professor teaching this course."
Of course, any copyright statement should accurately reflect who owns
the copyright. For example, for some course materials, the appropriate
copyright statement would be:
"Copyright Kansas State University 2008" or "Copyright
Kansas State University and [professors' name] 2008"
