Non-KSU Students

Kansas State University is happy to welcome students from other universities, non-student participants or community members to apply to participate on our education abroad programs as "non-KSU students" if space is available.

Non-KSU students will be given the same advising, application, pre-departure, while abroad and returned student support as regular KSU students. Additionally, all non-KSU students will be charged at Kansas resident tuition rates for all exchange programs.

Non-degree seeking students:

  • should apply to KSU as non-degree seeking students.
  • cannot use Federal Financial Aid from KSU, but could receive Federal Financial Aid from their home institution if they remain a degree-seeking student there.
  • should have their transcripts from abroad transferred directly to their home institution.
  • are not eligible to apply for the Office of International Programs scholarships.

Application process for faculty-led education abroad programs*:

  • Apply to Kansas State University as a non-degree seeking student.
    • Undergraduate students: https://apply.k-state.edu/
      • When you get to the point in the application where it asks if you are planning to work toward a degree, select "non degree seeking student"
      • When you get to the point in the applications where it asks what campus you are applying to, select "Global Campus"
      • The application fee is $40 and you can apply and pay the fee online
      • Transcripts are not necessary for non-degree admission
    • Graduate students:
      • Apply as a non-degree seeking student to a specific program within the Graduate School OR
      • Apply as a non-degree seeking student through the Global Campus
  • Apply for a program following the instructions listed at http://www.k-state.edu/abroad/apply.
  • Submit a completed "Non-KSU Student Home University Verification Form"
  • Submit an official transcript from your home university to the KSU Education Abroad
  • Apply to the faculty-led course through the Global Campus
    • Confirm with your Education Abroad Advisor that you have completed the required documents to enroll in the course.
    • Proceed to the KSIS system to enroll in the class for the faculty-led program.
    • Be sure to check for your enrollment appointment under Enrollment Dates in your KSIS Student Center.

*Non-KSU students must be admitted by KSU before they can be admitted to the education abroad program.
