Apply to be a peer instructor
Applications for Enhanced University Experience peer instructors are taken each January for those who want to teach in the subsequent fall semester. Peer instructors serve as recitation instructors for EDCEP 111 University Experience and/or lead study groups in social science, science, or algebra courses. This position requires a minimum time commitment of 10 hours per week for a total salary of $1000 for the fall semester. Selected applicants are required to attend training sessions during the final 8 weeks of the spring semester prior to teaching.
We are looking for applicants who are good student role models, are committed to the concept of academic success for all students, desire to teach others how to learn, are able to relate to a diverse group of people, have proven success in social science and/or mathematics courses, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Preference is given to students at the sophomore level or above.
Interested students must attend an information meeting to receive application materials and detailed information about the position. Watch this space in early January for the time and location of the information meetings.
