Other Credit By Exam opportunities

Students with previous education or experience can gain credit for many K-State courses through locally constructed examinations. To qualify, students must be currently enrolled at K-State and receive permission from the head of the department in which the course is offered. Contact the appropriate department head for more information.

Entrance and professional exams

The Academic Assistance Center administers the following exams, which are often required to enter selected undergraduate, graduate, or professional programs.

K-State - Residual ACT Exam

An on-campus or residual testing program is available for enrolled, admitted, or prospective K-State students who were unable to take the ACT test on a national test date. Residual ACT results are reported only to the student and to the K-State admissions office. Scores are not transferable to other institutions. The residual exam may be taken at the Academic Assistance Center by appointment, Monday–Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The current fee for this exam is $40.00.

Proctored exams

Correspondence course and other non-K-State exams can be proctored in the Academic Assistance Center for a fee of $25.00. Potential examinees must complete a request for exam proctor prior to testing.
