Required Students

Students who do not meet the Qualified Admission criteria established by the Kansas Board of Regents may be required to participate in Academic Coaching as a condition of admission. This requirement is specified on the letter of admission sent to students.

If you have questions regarding this admission condition or your admission assessment, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission at 785-532-6250.

Program Expectations

Academic Coaching supports students as they transition to university-level academics. Each student will be assigned to an Academic Coach who will meet with the student at least once every two weeks to check in, connect to services, and answer questions.

Students with required Academic Coaching must sign a learning agreement which outlines student expectations. Required students are limited to enroll in 12-15 credit hours (depending on their major and degree plan) during their first semester. Depending on their interests, individual needs, and class availability, most students will take an introductory course for their major, a First Year SeminarExpository WritingMath, or Speech to complete their schedule.
